Geocaching

Have you ever heard or seen the word Geocache and wondered what it is all about? I was in your shoes untill I looked up www.geocaching.com and did a little bit or reading. Geocaching started back in 02 and it has been growing over the years. What is it all about you ask, well read on and I will explane it the best I can. Geocaching is a hi-tec version of hide and seek, or maybe you could call it treasure hunting. Its all done in the great outdoors so if you are a lover of camping, backpacking or you just love being outside in nature this sport might be for you. People from all over the world hide containers of all sizes called caches. Inside these containers are a log book and if there is room there might also be small trade items. In order to find these caches you have to sigh up with the site and create a profile. You can look up cach locations in a number of ways but to make it easy for the first time hunter use the zipcode look up. When you find a cache in your area that you want to look for go to the cache page and write down the gps location. Its best to read the whole cache page. If you have a handheld gps just enter the location and it will point the way. When you find it sign the log and enter it as found on the cache page and your ready for your next hunt.
